Job description
We are looking for an Accountant with a passion for Construction and UK real estate and experience within a contracting business to join our fast paced, dynamic and friendly team.
Whilst you will be required to work with minimal supervision, when necessary, you will play an important role in our integrated team where colleagues within Vantage Zero, Bankfoot APAM and the wider group all work closely together.

The purpose of the role is to;
- Provide comprehensive management accounting services to Vantage Zero.
- Take ownership of the financial process and deliverables for Vantage Zero.
GENERAL ACTIVITIES
Management Accounting Duties
- Prepare accurate and timely consolidated management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets and other financial information including the calculation and posting of manual journals such as accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc.
- Measure and liaise with both internal and external clients, staff and management on reported results and performance of KPI’s. Prepare monthly variance commentary and analysis by job.
- Identify problem areas and present recommendations to Directors in a clear and effective manner.
- Production of cashflows against business plan & budgets and considering variances.
- Management of the audit process, liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
- Preparation of VAT returns, CIS returns, Corporations Tax compliance, and assistance with other compliance.
- Management of banking, supplier invoice payments, company credit cards and credit control.
Operational and Client Services Duties
- Working closely with other members of the team and wider group to provide a bridge between financials and operational components of the business.
- Review accounting processes and procedures, identifying problem areas and areas for improvement to ensure accurate delivery of results.
- Working closely with the Directors in the preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly management and Board reporting.
- Ensure excellent client service delivery and act as point of contact for financial queries both internally and externally.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification or QBE.
- Experience in a contracting business is essential.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is desirable.
- Technical accounting and tax knowledge is advantageous (potentially from a practice background)
- Experience in project management software is beneficial
